Recent improvements in excitation systems provide benefits during abnormal voltage or frequency excursions on power systems in addition to their normal function of voltage control and aiding system stability. The corrective factor introduced by voltage regulators under abnormal conditions, such as sustained low voltage, overvoltage, loss load or rejection and frequency variations.
