摘要
Copper improves the cold resistance of nickel steel and can partly replace the nickel. The optimal copper content of steels containing 5% Ni is 3%. The high cold resistance is due to the substructure which is dislocation-type martensite with finely dispersed copper segregates that retard recrystallization processes. It contains residual austenite along the boundaries of martensite crystals which are stable at subzero temperatures.
