GAS TURBINES FOR THE PROCESS IMPROVEMENT OF INDUSTRIAL THERMAL POWER PLANTS.

Power and steam are used simultaneously in numerous industrial production processes. Though the back-pressure steam turbine is suitable for such duties, the necessary proportions of the two forms of energy are often beyond its capabilities. Taking the paper industry as a example, it is shown here how favorable energy conditions and better fuel efficiency can be achieved by adding a gas turbine to a conventional thermal power plant.
