摘要
A conceptual framework of operations management is developed based on a historical perspective. Operations management is organized by categories of production systems: namely, projects, job shops or batch production, repetitive production, assembly lines, and processing plants. Focus is given on the major points at which the branches for each process became distinct with specific problems recognized or management techniques created.
