Drupa 2000 - Prepress and printing form systems (Part 1). New flexographic technologies for the packaging field

Because of the number of innovations in flexo technologies with respect to system expansions for the packaging industry, the report on the drupa 2000 in this field is provided in three parts, namely, prepress, printing form systems, and printing machines. Part 1 considers the prepress and casts a glance at printing form systems. Part 2 will cover printing form systems, printing informing, and an update of flexo printing in packaging. Illustrations in the discussion include the flatbed imager (platesetter) Impact dVU of the French manufacturer Global Graphics, Cyrel Digital Imager Spark of Barco Graphics; a view of the interior workings of the HelioFlex F2000 of Hell Gravure Systems GmbH; and the Cartomac Forniture SrL Kosmos 3000 digital imager system.
