In FY1994, sales of semiconductor manufacturing equipment in Japan expanded 39.1% to 703.17 billion yen, posting the highest record gain in history. This growth reflects large investments in plants and equipment by Japanese and foreign semiconductor manufacturers. In FY1995, the strong level of growth is expected to continue.
