Plane wave scattering from multilayered resistive-strip grating embedded in a dielectric slab

An accurate and efficient numerical solution is presented for the two-dimensional electromagnetic wave scattering from multilayered resistive strip gratings embedded in a dielectric slab. Both E- and H-waves are treated. The problem is formulated into the set of integral equations, which is solved by moment method accompanied with the regularization procedure. The resultant set of linear algebraic equations has the form of Fredholm second kind, and therefore yields stable and accurate numerical solutions. Power distributions computed for several grating parameters are presented. We paid special attention to maximizing the absorption into the strips as this analysis to be useful in designing electromagnetic wave absorbers.
