摘要
PCS-to-PCS Interference may occur when two or more competing service providers operate in the same service area. A common form of this interference is due to the near/far phenomenon, which occurs when a victim mobile is far from the desired base station but near the interfering base station. This paper presents a canonical model of this form of PCS-to-PCS interference. Using this model we show that the presence of two independent PCS networks in the same service area will create holes in coverage. We also show that these coverage holes can be reduced or eliminated through the use of a number of deployment techniques, such as co-siting and near-siting, or by increasing the systems coverage and interference margins.
