The recent developments in process modifiers are discussed. Processors continue to look for ways to reduce manufacturing costs, and process modifiers help increase throughput. Processing aids are generally used in PVC to improve processing by reducing energy requirements and improving fusion. VitroCo has developed a patent-pending new technology to reduce the viscosity of polymers during processing by adding Vitrolite, a naturally occurring non-toxic, amorphous, aluminosilicate glass.
