Because of the very short delivery time, the structural design of the London Eye and its calculations, manufacturing, assembly and verification turned into a fast-track project development. Moreover, sizing had to be adjusted to materials already ordered, available bearing sizes, manufacturing possibilities, and the demands made by the assembly method. In this paper, the structural analyses that were carried out are described.
