Carbide-tipped sawblades have traditionally been used by a South African company for cutting as-quarried pyrophyllite blocks into decorative tiles. In tests under field conditions, a Diamond Winter blade tipped with inserts has cut costs in a number of ways. The article reports the results of these tests.
