There was a marginal decline in the market for uncoated woodfree during the third quarter of 2000, despite an improvement in the order inflows. The medium term outlook for uncoated woodfree in Europe was marginally encouraging because of supply cutbacks. For coated woodfree, the decline continued. Manufacturers needed to spread their market risk by exporting when the market became buoyant.
