摘要
The underrepresentation of women in scientific community is discussed. According to National Science Foundation statistics, only 50% women earn bachelor degree in sciences and by the time they enter science and engineering workforce their number dwindled to 22%. Many mentoring programs are in progress that provides students with guidance and encouragement from professionals and fosters a sense of community among women undergraduate students by encouraging them to interact with peers.
