摘要
This simulation program can provide the data essential for designing and computer-controlling of rolling mills, by calculating the distributions and changes of temperature for work rolls, back-up rolls, bearings, roll chocks and housings in the course of rolling. The heat transfer coefficient between a roll and roll coolant, which greatly affects the accuracy of temperature simulation, was obtained from experiments conducted using test equipment of actual size under the same conditions as those of actual roll cooling. The rolling tests were performed using a laboratory rolling mill, the values obtained from which were applied to the simulations; the simulation results were in good agreement with those obtained from the test rolling. The main merit of this program is that reasonable decisions on the basic specifications of a mill are made possible by this program. The developed simulation model makes it easy to decide on the mill size, type of roll neck bearings and design of the roll coolant system.
