Application of the relationship da/dN equals C( DELTA K)**m (da/dN: fatigue crack growth rate, DELTA K: stress intensity factor range, C, m: material constants) is effective in the analysis of fatigue crack growth life. The values of material constants C and m have great influences on the predicted growth life. The values of C and m that determine the upper and lower bounds of the fatigue crack growth rates are calculated in this paper for Japanese structural steels. Furthermore, fatigue crack growth properties of various materials were studied through the analysis of the C and m correlation.
