WHY USE PREFINISHED METALS?

Prefinished metals are grouped into five distinct classes: prepainted metals; plastic-metal laminates; preplated metals; other metal-coated metals (i. e. , by hot dipping); and pre-anodized aluminum. The article reports on a survey that looked into usage and applications of the different classes of prefinished metals. A total of 19% of the 289 respondents indicated that they use prefinished metals, whereas 81% say that they do not. Results of the survey indicate trends in usage of prefinished metals, which will be up, and also indicate areas where improvement is needed. Among the reasons cited for using prefinished metals are cost savings and the availability of high-quality finishes.
