Various possibilities for solving the inverse problem of refraction are analyzed. It is shown that this problem can be solved by means of integral transforms, in particular, the Mehler-Fock transform. The effective algorithm for a numerical reconstruction of the height profile of the refractive index makes use of filtering methods from radio engineering.
