This is an investigation of the processes involved in the transformation of glissile superdislocations to dislocation barriers and in the breakdown of these barriers. The variation problem is solved by the extreme of the functional describing the activation energy of the different processes. The activation energy of the transformation of superdislocations is calculated for single crystals with different orientations, deformed in tension. The results provide a means of explaining the singularities of the anomalous temperature dependences of the yield point and work hardening of ordered alloys of the Cu//3Au type.
