The usability of two visual acuity tests (the BVAT crowded HOTV test and the Lea Symbols test) with preschool aged children was compared. Although the testability of preschool age children on the BVAT and Lea Symbols visual acuity tests was similar, children were able to read smaller optotypes with the BVAT test.
