Two dual-gate MOSFETs intended for use in high quality UHF and VHF TV tuners and FM radio tuning are discussed and their most notable advantages offered over former MOS devices are considered: lower input capacitance, higher transfer admittance, lower noise, better input and output characterization, and lowered spread in pinch-off voltage and image characteristics. The performance-governing factors in their manufacture are given. Two circuits are described to demonstrate their use in tuner applications and to illustrate their versatility as tuners.
