Improvement of hot rolled strip shape quality by work roll crown arrangement

A model was used to calculate the elastic deformation of the work rolls in the finishing train of the 1549 mm mill, and a two-dimensional model was employed to calculate their crown. Based on the calculated results, a work roll crown arrangement method adaptable to the finishing train was presented and put into operation to the actual conditions, this made a remarkable improvement on the shape quality of hot rolled strips.
