SULPHUR-IN-OIL REFERENCE MATERIALS FOR THE DETERMINATION OF SULPHUR IN GAS OILS.

The sulfur limits set in European regulations gave rise to the need for a series of reference gas oils containing determined amounts of sulfur which can be used in checking the analytical method applied for calibrating the apparatus used in the analysis. This need has been met by the production and certification of a series of four gas oils with sulfur contents (nominal) of 0. 1, 0. 3, 0. 5 and 1. 0 mass fraction percent. The article deals with the assessment, production and application methods of the reference gas oils. 9 refs.
