摘要
Particle trajectories and collection efficiencies are calculated for the capture of fine particles by spherical and spheroidal collectors in idealized gaseous flow fields using coulombic and external electric field forces. For particles with negligible inertia, very simple exact results for the single force cases are found that are independent of collector geometry and of the flow field. For particles with finite inertia, the collision cross sections for spherical collectors are approximately circular, regardless of external field orientation.
