A classification of multiposition radar systems (MRS) and the main advantages and 'price' of such systems are examined together with basic relations in problems of detecting signals of various types on a background of Gaussian noise. Optimal and suboptimal signal detectors operating in the absence of spatial (interposition) correlation of interference are also considered.
