NEW TYPE X-Y PLASMA DISPLAY DEVICES.

A new dot matrix plasma display device has been developed with high level brightness and compact driver circuits. The realization of this device is due to development of a parallel driving method and large scale hybrild ICs (HICs). One plasma display unit is designed for 32 characters multiplied by 1 line with 5 multiplied by 7 format, adopting the parallel driving method. Another is an 80 characters multiplied by 2 lines display unit with 5 multiplied by 7 format, which adopts the parallel driving method and large scale HIC. A 40-character display family and an 80-character family are being developed.
