The solution of the problem of optimum control over glass melting process is described. The technical realization of automated control system using controllers, digital measuring converters and personal computer is considered. The automated control system can help in the solution of following problems: the control of technological regimes of tank furnaces, including the measurements of glass melt temperature using thermocouples; the control of the product quality parameters; technical economical analysis of the furnace functioning during various time periods etc.
