Discussing the previously published article, it is claimed that those authors suggestion on possibility of harmful zinc atack reduction by the optimum content and distribution of different fractions of iron-ore materails and coke at charging taking into account their thermal conductivity and heat capacity is unreal one. None of the 'reduction of oxidation levels for vapourous and metal zinc compared with the level of burden' non't allow to avoid its precipitation on the lining of the stack's lower zones, if it is not removed from the burden or reduced to the maximum possible limits. It is recommended that the materials shouldn't be charged into the furnace whill an economically beneficial technology for zinc removal from them is developed.
