摘要
The characteristic distribution of sulfur through the tapped iron mass is caused principally by the following factors: 1) by changes in sulfur content over the height and diameter of the column of molten iron in the blast furnace hearth; 2) by definite mixing of the molten iron layers due to peculiarities in hydrodynamic processes in its outflow. Although desulfurizing of iron on tapping does occur as a result of its movement with the slag (through the notch and in the spout), it cannot be of decisive importance under normal conditions of furnace operation. Here there is relative short-term contact between the streams of iron and slag. In contrast, the desulfurizing process in the furnace hearth is more intensive because it is activated by filtration of drops of metal through the thickness of the slag. 3 res.
