The motor rewind industry has gained new attention, partly because of environmental and energy conservation considerations. Some surveys show that, in a given region, the total horsepower repaired nearly equals the total of new motors installed. This article examines several issues concerning the electric motor repair industry including the repair of energy-efficient motors, motor insulation materials, stator core testing, and winding pattern conversions.
