摘要
Test operations are an important part of a high quality production process and should not be reviewed as something separate from production. Testing is a process and like any other process in the overall production line, test quality can be measured and statistically analyzed using a total quality control (TQC) approach. Unlike most other steps, testing can provide a wealth of information about production processes preceding it. Automatic test equipment (ATE) has demonstrated its value in collecting process data for use in quality control efforts. Whether production levels are high or low, ATE makes product test and data management efficient in situations where these functions would otherwise be impossible. This paper discusses the subjects of TQC, improving the test process, test equipment effectiveness and cost considerations.
