Excited state absorption in Mn2+ doped phosphate glass

摘要
The possibility of obtaining laser action from Mn2+ doped glass has been investigated. The excited state absorption at the expected laser wavelength was measured. The results show that excited state absorption reabsorbs the fluorescence of the Mn2+, and hence no laser action can take place in the Mn2+ doped phosphate glass.
