摘要
The corrosion-fatigue failure of austenitic chrome-nickel steels used in atomic power in chloride solutions is studied. In cyclic failure of 08Kh18N10T steel in 42% MgCl//2 solution both corrosion fatigue and corrosion cracking depending upon the ratio of the mechanical and corrosion factors are observed. With predominance of the mechanical factor and relatively rapid crack propagation, the fracture has the characteristic features of fatigue in air with distortions caused by the influence of the active medium. In the stage of slow crack propagation, failure acquires a character more typical of corrosion cracking.
