摘要
Forensic surveying is a science that deals with the relation and application of surveying and engineering facts to legal problems. The team of 'detectives' consists of licensed professionals, and their evidence is critical both during an investigation and later when remedial efforts, such as building a stronger bridge, designing a safer rock cut, or rebuilding a road, are undertaken. The C. T. Male forensic surveying team is multidisciplinary. It includes licensed surveyors and engineers and relies on survey equipment capable of the highest degree of precision, computer analysis, detailed reporting, and historical research. As in the case of the Schoharie Bridge collapse and the New York Thruway rock slide, C. T. Male surveyors can also assist forensic engineers in their investigations. These two cases are discussed.
