Results are presented from large-scale studies of the pelletizing of oxidized nickel ores in a dish granulator by wetting the solid particles of the charge being stirred with micromelts forming in a zone of local superheating and then solidifying the melts by bringing them in contact with relatively cold fine particles. The optimal conditions for obtaining stable pellets by this method are determined.
