A brief characteristic is given of a single-phase sself-excited synchronous motor. On the basis of differential equations an analysis is carried out of the steady-state operating conditions of a motor. A procedure for the calculation of the angular response and performance is given. A comparison of the calculated and the experimental characteristics shows their adequate convergence.
