摘要
Broadband transmission is vital to providing high-speed digital and broadband video services. Accordingly, fiber optic subscriber transmission system and broadband radio subscriber tansmission system are being developed to provide such new services. New circuit cross-connection techniques, such as one-way or asymmetrical two-way circuit will be effective in reducing transmission cost and in otherwise providing high-speed and broadband services. This paper describes basic concepts for transmission system architecture, user-network interface, transmission performance, and maintenance for high-speed broadband communications networks. An outline is also presented of an experimental transmission system based on these concepts and applied to the INS Model System.
