摘要
Starting from the present achievements, possible future developments in the field of welding are predicted. Particular emphasis is placed on the foreseeable growth of processes such as CO//2, plasma, submerged arc, electroslag, friction, electron beam, laser, and diffusion welding. It is shown that special electrometallurgy, with electroslag remelting and casting, appear very promising for the solution of particularly difficult problems such as, for example, the fabrication of high-quality rotor billets weighing 150-200 tons.
