THIS ARTICLE DESCRIBES SELECT DESIGN FEATURES OF THE ″ TROPICALE ″ , LUXURIOUS 36,600 GROSS TON SHIP (THE LARGEST PASSENGER VESSEL YET BUILT IN SCANDINAVIA) WHICH RECENTLY JOINED THE CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES' FLEET AT MIAMI. DECOR AND FACILITIES FOR 1,396 PASSENGERS HAVE BEEN DESIGNED PARTICULARLY TO ATTRACT AMERICANS. TWIN SULZER 7RND68M LOW SPEED ENGINES DEVELOP 26,600 BHP TO DRIVE HIGHLY SKEWED C. P. PROPELLERS AND SHAFT ALTERNATORS.
