Auto-Disassembly System Using Shape Memory Materials

Automation of product-disassembly process is one of the method of reducing the recycling cost of products. So, we proposed that heat-disassembly system is a promising form of auto-disassembly system and developed the fasteners made from shape memory materials which were unfastened by heating. Furthermore, we tested a few prototypes assembled by these fasteners and established the disassembling system by heating in a short time. In this paper, we will present our works and technical issues.
