Regulations for the structural design of fixed structures on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, issued by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, enter into force in the beginning of 1977. The regulations as such relate to general safety requirements, whereas more specific rules for soil investigation and foundation design, and for concrete, steel and aluminum structures arer given in appendices. The present paper outlines the contents are the regulations, and emphasizes some points that are considered to be of particular interest.
