摘要：
The article describes the principle used to control the thickness of the plate produced by a steel plate mill, and also gives a brief summary of the overall plant layout. With automatic hydraulic gauge control it is possible to reduce the number of passes and to improve the dimensional accuracy by adhering to smaller tolerance bands.
