Organization of jobs for monolithic concrete dams in the USSR

Monolithic concrete dams are performed by cementing dam joints. The process consists of operations for assembling armature and injecting cement solution into joints. The experience of Gidrospetsstroy union on performing the above jobs at 14 dams, the summary joint area of which has been about 2.5 mln m3 has been presented. The jobs peculiarities at low air temperatures have been presented. The designs of filled cementing armature and vibrodamping conditions, under which it does not break, are discussed. The technology is optimized at stand for studying joint cementing process. The jobs qualities have been confirmed during dam operations.
