摘要
A survey is made of the interrelation between the steel production, the microstructure formation and the resulting technological properties of hot-work tool steels and steels for plastic molds. For the hot-work tool steels the annealing microstructure and its evaluation in combination with the material toughness are explained. For the plastic mold steels the special requirements for this steel category resulting, among other things, from the variety of the plastics to be processed and the size range of the parts to be manufactured are shown by means of examples.
