摘要
The explosive growth in the use of injection molding by the rubber industry has not been without its problems. While fully automated injection molders have successfully replaced the long lines of compression and transfer presses in many molding shops, they have often been set up in a highly empirical way. The growing economic pressures demand even greater production leading to the use of more complex tooling such as multicavity systems, again designed on a largely traditional and empirical basis. This paper shows how computer software programs can be successfully employed to solve problems encountered in automatic injection molding of rubber. Details are given on computerized control of processing parameters such as melt and mold temperatures and their distribution, shear stresses, volume rate of flow, pressure, etc.
