Data are presented which indicate the radiative changes in light yield and in the character of the deexcitation of a plastic scintillator, which are caused by unstable centers. The change in character of the luminescence begins to be manifested at doses that are 10**3 to 10**4 times as small as the changes caused by stable centers. These changes should be taken into account in work with cooled scintillators and in performing measurements in intense beams. A qualitative explanation of these phenomena is given.
