The stress state in the smallest cross section of the neck of the cylindrical specimen is carried out using the well-known DavidenkovSpiridonova or Bridgman equations. THe difference in the concepts used in deriving these equations is represented by the fact that the low variation in the curvature of the trajectory of the main stresses which coincides on the contour with the generating line of the surface of the neck at points of the smallest cross section of the neck can in accordance with Davidenkov and Spirodonova, be written in a more simplistic form.
