It is of interest to investigate the stability of motion of a solid particle carried by a laminar flow of a conducting fluid in transverse magnetic fields at low magnetic Reynolds numbers. This article considers particles from nonconducting and nonmagnetic material. In this case they do not directly interact with the magnetic field. Three basic forces acting on a unit volume of the solid particle in a plane parallel laminar flow are: friction force, Zhukovskii lifting force, and the force of gravity. Results obtained are discussed.
