摘要
To realize a flexible and intelligent robot system, a vision sensor is considered to be one of the most important components. But most current vision systems are too large and expensive to be applicable to intelligent robot systems. To solve this problem, a compact and low-cost vision system for robots, the HV/R-1, was developed. The image processing algorithm of the HV/R-1 is based on a polygonal image processing method. It enables the HV/R-1 to recognize parts rapidly and precisely using compact hardware. The HV/R-1 is easily operated in a parts recognition software package by using a teaching-by-showing method. In this paper, the overall structure and functions of the HV/R-1 are discussed.
