A model used to simulated a satellite communications system (SCS) having multistation access is described which makes it possible to investigate the carrying capacity of a SCS as a function of the number of stations, the characteristics of the load applied to the network, the total capacity of the system, and the capacity of an individual subchannel based on different methods used to establish communications. A block diagram of the program and the results of the simulation are presented.
