摘要
The No. 7 Coke Battery of the West Siberian Metallurgical Combine was shut down as the result of wear primarily of 10-11 rows of the wall lining of the zone of the vertical flues (first-second from the hearth of the chamber). During breaking up of the coke battery lining wall parts were taken from points of the zone of the vertical flues differing in height. Detailed investigations were made of their physicoceramic and thermophysical properties and phase composition. The investigation results show that during long service of coke ovens there was a reduction in porosity and density of the heating and coking sides of the dinas wall parts, the mechanical strength increased significantly, and there was no additional growth at 1450°C in the parts after service. On the heating side of the parts residual quartz and cristobalite were completely modified into tridymite while on the coking side of the parts there also remained a minimum content of residual quartz and a significant portion of the cristobalite was transformed into tridymite. The above date characterizing the change in properties of dinas parts during service in coke ovens may be used for prediction of the conditions of service and used in design and calculation of ovens and also in repair of coke batteries after complete cooling of them.
